The Elk Ridge Promise

A custom build or remodel is a lot of money and a lot of trust. So we put the things that usually go wrong in writing, up front, as promises you can hold us to.

  1. 01

    The 30-Minute Promise

Call or message during business hours and you hear back within 30 minutes. You never chase us.

  2. 02

    The No-Surprise Scope Guarantee

A written, line-item scope, signed before demo day. The price changes only by a change order you approve in writing — never a surprise invoice.

  3. 03

    The Daily Visibility Guarantee

A photo and status update every working day, plus a short written weekly recap, sent to whoever you want, wherever you are.

  4. 04

    The Broom-Clean Guarantee

Your home protected and broom-clean at the end of every working day, with a professional deep-clean at completion.

  5. 05

    The Verified-Crew Guarantee

Every sub on your job has a current insurance certificate, Colorado trade license where applicable, and signed agreement on file before they set foot in your home.

Plus: a written 2-year workmanship warranty — above the local 1-year norm — and final payment only after you sign off at the satisfaction walkthrough.

How it works

From first call to final walkthrough

  1. 01

    Call or Text

Reach us directly. A short conversation tells us what you're working on and whether we're the right fit.

  2. 02

    Walkthrough

We look at the space in person (or by photo and video for remote owners), take scope notes live, and flag what the description doesn't account for.

  3. 03

    Written Proposal in 48 Hours

A line-item scope with clear allowances and a timeline, in your hands within 48 hours of the walkthrough. You know exactly what you're getting before anything is signed.

  4. 04

  6. 06

Craftsmanship you can see

The photos here are real finished craftsmanship completed by our crew. We don't show stock images or another company's work as our own. As our first Elk Ridge projects finish with homeowner consent, we'll add them here with full before-and-after sets.

Being straight with you

Is Elk Ridge a fit?

We'd rather be honest now than waste your time. A No-Surprise build is built around a written scope, a documented process, and daily communication — which is exactly right for some owners and not for others. Here's where we fit, and where we don't.

You want craftsmanship and a job run right. You're investing in your home for the long term and you want it done properly, documented, and finished to a standard you can point to.
You want to know where your project stands. A photo every working day and a written weekly recap — whether you live here or manage the home from out of state.
Second-home and remote owners. You're not always in Steamboat. We run the job so you don't have to be on site — remote walkthroughs to start, daily visibility throughout, one accountable owner the whole way.
Realtor and designer referrals. You send clients to people who make you look good. We protect the relationship with clean communication, a written scope, and work that holds up.
You're choosing strictly on lowest bid. We price for a job done right, documented, and warrantied — not to be the cheapest number on the street.
You'd prefer a cash, off-the-books handshake with no paper. Every job we run has a written scope, signed change orders, insured subs, and lien protection for your home. That's the whole point.
You want work to start without a defined scope. We don't swing a hammer until the plan is written and approved — it's how we keep the surprises out.

If a written plan, a protected home, and daily communication sound like what you've been looking for, we'll likely be a strong fit. Request a Consultation and let's find out.

Built for Routt County

We build for the way homes work up here

Remodeling a mountain home isn't the same as remodeling anywhere else. We plan around the conditions that actually affect your project in Steamboat and the Yampa Valley — and we build the schedule around how this valley really works.

Routt County and Steamboat Springs permitting, handled start to finish
Snow load, frost depth, and freeze-thaw detailing built into the work, not bolted on after
Wildland-urban-interface (WUI) requirements understood for mapped parcels
Remote-mountain material lead times planned for up front, so deliveries don't stall your job
Seasonal scheduling around peak trade availability (June–September books out weeks ahead)

Local, owner-run, licensed and insured in Colorado — certificate of insurance available on request.

Where we build

Where we build in Routt County

We're based in Steamboat Springs and build across the Yampa Valley. These are the areas we genuinely serve — if your home is nearby and not listed, ask us and we'll tell you honestly.

Steamboat Springs. Our home base — new builds, full remodels, interiors, and exteriors across the city.
Old Town Steamboat. Older and historic homes where pre-1980 testing and careful detailing matter.
Strawberry Park. Mountain properties where access, snow load, and site conditions shape the build.
Stagecoach. Second homes and full-time residences south of town, run with remote-owner visibility.
Steamboat II and Catamount. Established mountain neighborhoods we build and remodel in across the valley.
Routt County WUI parcels. Wildland-urban-interface lots where we build the ignition-resistant assembly the mapped parcel requires.
Credentials and how we work

What stands behind the work

We would rather show you what is real than a wall of reviews. Here is what backs an Elk Ridge Home project today — the registration, the certifications, the warranty, and the way we communicate on every job.

Registered and insured in Colorado. Local Steamboat and Routt County registration; a certificate of insurance is available on request.
Residential remodeler, NAICS 236118. Remodels and custom builds are the whole business, not a sideline.
Manufacturer and supplier certifications. We install the systems we specify to the manufacturer's installation standard, with the certifications those systems require.
Written 2-year workmanship warranty. Put in writing on every project, well past the one-year term common in the trade.
You see every working day. A photo and a status update every working day, plus a short written recap each week.
Both decision-makers, every message. No detail lands with only one of you — both of you are on every project message.
Good questions

Questions homeowners ask us

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Elk Ridge Home is local, owner-run, licensed and insured in Colorado, and we're glad to send our certificate of insurance on request. Every subcontractor on your job also carries a current insurance certificate, Colorado trade license where applicable, and a signed agreement before they start.
Do you handle design, or do I need to bring my own designer?
Both work. We lead scope and layout direction as part of your walkthrough, and we can guide selections with a documented allowance schedule. If you already have a designer or architect, we coordinate with them directly.
What's the smallest project you take on?
We focus on custom home builds, whole-home and major remodels, and full-room interior and exterior projects — new builds, kitchens, baths, basements, whole-home interiors, decks, siding, framing, and windows — rather than small repairs or single-item handyman work. If you're not sure where your project lands, Text Us a few photos and we'll tell you honestly.
How will I know what's happening on my project?
You get a photo and a status update every working day, plus a short written weekly recap, sent to whoever you choose. And you reach us directly — not a foreman, not a call center — the same business day.
How does the budget stay in control without surprise costs?
We sign a written, line-item scope before demo day. From there, the price changes only by a change order you approve in writing — never a surprise invoice. What drives the final number is mostly scope, finish level, and the condition behind the walls; we walk through all of that with you before you commit.
Do you work with out-of-town and second-home owners?
Often. We start remote owners with a phone call and a photo-and-video walkthrough, run the job with daily photo updates and a written weekly recap, and keep one accountable owner on it the whole way, so you don't have to be in Steamboat to stay in the loop.
What does the 2-year workmanship warranty cover, and when can you start?
Our written 2-year workmanship warranty covers the quality of our work and starts the day of your final walkthrough — above the local 1-year norm. Start dates depend on the season and current schedule; mountain trades and materials book out weeks ahead in summer, so the sooner we do your walkthrough, the better your window.
